Hope Home School: Their Stories
My name is Khalid Khushi. I am Pakistani Christian. In Pakistan, I was working as vegetable wholesaler. In the evening, I was serving with Eternal Hope Ministry. My brother and I were living together in a same house. I often went to a Muslim family with my fellow pastor Nadeem. When prayer and session ended, I boy started shouting throughout the community that our pastors were converting Muslim woman to Christianity.
So, Fatima from the same family called us and warned us about the situation. The boy who had been shouting belonged to a Muslim organization called Lashkar-e-Taiba (a banned extremist organization). On August 16, 2013, this organization attacked my home when both of my brothers were away from the house. My brother’s wife went to drop her children at an academy. My wife was at home with my daughters and my father, who is paralyzed.
They attackers wanted to kill me. They threatened my wife and said that they were going to kill me, her husband. Because of this attack and threat, I grew scared that they would accuse me of blasphemy. In that case, I would not be safe in Pakistan. I hid myself and my family at a distance place for couple of weeks.
Some of the people helped me with the finance from my ministry to get visa and the tickets to save our lives and come to Thailand. Here in Thailand, we are living a difficult life. We have not been detained, but it is like a sweet jail. We do not have a visa. For that reason, we cannot legally work. Nor can we receive access medicine nor education for our children.
